2012 — Group Drawing Exhibition

This work was presented as part of a group exhibition in which each artwork was displayed alongside a black-and-white reproduction of itself. The exhibition posed a simple yet fundamental question: to what extent can a copy carry the same qualities and experience as the original work?
My contribution was based on the digital montage of images gathered from my immediate surroundings. Human figures, botanical elements, and ornamental forms were layered and combined, allowing disparate visual sources to merge into new compositions.
The presentation of the color image alongside its black-and-white counterpart became an integral part of the work. In this translation, certain visual information disappeared while other elements became more pronounced, as if each version revealed a different character of the same image.
Rather than emphasizing the originality of a single image, the work focused on its capacity for transformation through reproduction and transfer.
